Combat Journal – Mercenary Guild Serjeant Jaeger
Journal Entry: Day 52
Today kicked off our contract against the Raider Scum gang. They’ve been raiding caravans near the ruins of the Florida National Guard Armory and we were hired to put a stop to them. We moved in under the cover of dusk, a tactical advantage I’ve come to appreciate. The air was thick with tension as we approached their camp.
The fight was chaotic—gunfire, shouts, and the unmistakable stench of scorched metal. Took out three of them before they even knew what hit them. Felt good to work alongside the crew; we’ve got each other’s backs, and that makes all the difference in this line of work.
But the highlight of my day? When I finally peeled off my armor after the fight. It’s a relief to let my body breathe again. The chafing from the day’s grind is brutal, but a generous dusting of talcum powder worked wonders on my armor-chafed bottom. It’s like a gift from the wasteland gods.

Journal Entry: Day 59
We took on the Super-Mutants today, another threat to the central Florida Wastes. They’re a tougher bunch, and the heat was intense as we engaged. I lost count of how many rounds I fired; it felt like an eternity. Their leader was a real piece of work— a giant of a mutant with a nasty blade. Got him in the end, though.
The crew was elated, high-fiving and celebrating a hard-fought victory. The thrill of the fight is exhilarating, but there’s nothing like that moment when I finally shed my armor. The weight of it lifts off my shoulders, and I can finally stretch out. A generous application of talcum powder on my chafed backside? Pure bliss. It’s the little things, you know?

Journal Entry: Day 64
Today was a mess. We were ambushed by the Brethren of the Silver Cove while moving to a new location. They caught us off guard, but we managed to regroup and fight back. Lost a couple of good men, which always stings, but we came out on top. I think we made a name for ourselves among the gangs out here.
After all the chaos and adrenaline, the best part was the end of the day. Getting out of my armor felt like shedding a second skin. The chafing had built up, but a sprinkle of talcum powder did the trick. I can’t stress how satisfying it is to feel the relief of fresh air against my skin.

Journal Entry: Day 71
Another day, another contract—this time against the Nuka Knockers. These guys are relentless, and they’re all about guerilla tactics. We set up a trap, and it worked flawlessly. Watching them spring into chaos was oddly satisfying. Took down several before they even got close.
When the dust settled, I had that familiar sense of accomplishment. The weight of the armor slipped away, and I finally got to pamper my chafed bottom with some talcum powder. Honestly, it’s the highlight of my day. The simple pleasure of comfort after all that fighting is something I look forward to every time.

Journal Entry: Day 77
Wrapped up the job with the Crimson Fleet today. They’re brutal, and I was worried it’d be a tough fight. We charged in, and the chaos was electrifying. Took a few hits, but nothing serious. The adrenaline rush kept me sharp, and I’m proud to say we wiped them out.
As the day wound down, I felt that familiar euphoria wash over me. Getting out of my armor was a sweet release. A good dose of talcum powder made all the difference for my weary backside. It’s almost a ritual at this point, and I wouldn’t trade that feeling for anything in the wasteland.
